Another move

Well, just over two weeks ago, our Chairman, Colin TT, received a phone call from the centre management with bad news!!! and then some good news!!!

Bad news was that we had to move out of the space we were occupying as soon as possible as they had secured a new tenant for the shop. That certainly was bad news.

So, what was the good news Colin asked? Well, they had identified another area of the centre which they were having problems renting out as it was in a very “unusable” or should we say “out of the way” part of the mall.

Due to limited foot traffic, very few businesses were interested in the area. There were some other minor problems in that it was “raw”. No ceilings, no floor tiles, just cement, and it needed to be partitioned as they were potentially renting out part of the area to a car parts company. Over the next number of weeks, the centre would dry wall the areas as well as put a suspended ceiling in. So hopefully, before Christmas comes along, we will once again be set up and running in our new room.

To this end though, yesterday, the 25th October 2014, the gang was assembled, or should we say a request for help went out, and the folk arrived and assisted with tearing down all the modules and then moving it all upstairs to the new premises. To say the response for support was gob smacking is an understatement. The photo below (Which unfortunately did not come out very well) bears testament to this.

Unfortunately, due to the work that will have to be done, all the modules and equipment was moved in and placed all over the floor, out of the way. Apparently, the shop fitters will move in and start with the back of the room putting in the ceiling. Once that is done, we move all our equipment to the back and then they ceiling the front part.

Anyway, the photo below is of our old premises, after everything was out and the team having a drink.

Stay tuned for the next episode in the history of EMRIG 🙂
